Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 · Venetian Charm in Old Town Chania
Morning — Arrive in Chania. Check into a boutique hotel in the Venetian Old Town and enjoy a traditional Cretan breakfast of kalitsounia (cheese pies).
Afternoon — Explore the Venetian Harbor, Egyptian Lighthouse, and the narrow alleyways of the Old Town. Visit the Nautical Museum or the Firka Fortress for harbor views.
Evening — Dine at the sunset-facing restaurants in the Nea Chora district, known for fresh seafood and a more local vibe.

Day 2 · Turquoise Waters of Balos Lagoon
Morning — Early departure for the Gramvousa Peninsula. Climb to the top of the Venetian Fortress on Gramvousa Island for panoramic sea views.

Day 3 · Deep Into the Samaria Gorge

Afternoon — Descend the Xyloskalo (wooden stairs) into the gorge. Hike through 'The Gates'—the narrowest point of the canyon—to reach the seaside village of Agia Roumeli.

Day 7 · Final Bites in Heraklion
