Afternoon — Check into your accommodation and head to the Knysna Waterfront for a relaxed seafood lunch. Take a lagoon cruise to the Knysna Heads, where the ocean meets the inlet, and enjoy the dramatic cliff views.

Evening — Enjoy a sundowner cocktail at a bar overlooking the lagoon followed by a dinner of local oysters, for which the town is famous.

💡 Book a lagoon cruise that includes the Featherbed Nature Reserve for the best views of the Western Head.

Day 2 · Forest Canopies and Coastal Spas

Morning — Drive up to the Eastern Knysna Head viewpoint for a panoramic morning vista of the Indian Ocean. Explore the rocky shoreline and tidal pools at the base of the cliffs.

Afternoon — Drive to the nearby Knysna Forest (Garden of Eden or Diepwalle) for a gentle walk beneath ancient yellowwood trees. Later, visit a local spa for a forest-inspired massage using indigenous essential oils.

Evening — Dine at a restaurant on Thesen Island, a trendy converted industrial area with beautiful canals and a relaxed holiday vibe.

💡 Thesen Island is very safe and walkable, making it perfect for a late-night stroll.

Day 3 · The Shores of Plettenberg Bay

Morning — Check out and take the 30-minute scenic drive to Plettenberg Bay. Stop at the Lookout Beach for a morning walk along the wide, white sandy shore.

Afternoon — Visit the Robberg Nature Reserve for a hike around the peninsula. You can choose different trail lengths, all offering incredible views of the rugged coastline and a resident seal colony.

Evening — Head to the Plettenberg Bay main street for dinner at an upscale bistro serving modern South African cuisine.

💡 Bring binoculars to Robberg; you can often see whales (in season) or dolphins from the cliffs.

Day 4 · Wine, Wellness, and Waves

Morning — Drive 15 minutes to a nearby boutique wine estate in the Plettenberg Bay Winelands for a morning tasting of Cap Classique (sparkling wine) and a light cheese platter.

Afternoon — Spend the afternoon at a luxury spa within one of the town's premier estates, opting for a full-body treatment or a hydrotherapy session. Continue the relaxation on the beach.

Evening — Enjoy a final sunset at a beachside restaurant at Keurboomstrand, watching the waves crash against the Arch Rock formation.

💡 Plettenberg Bay is a hub for high-end wellness; book your spa session at least a week in advance.

Day 5 · Wilderness Stop and Departure

Morning — Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking Central Beach. Do some last-minute gift shopping at a local marketplace for hand-woven textiles or leather goods.

Afternoon — Stop in the seaside village of Wilderness for a quick walk on its seemingly endless beach before continuing to the airport.

Evening — Depart from George Airport (GRJ) for your flight home.

💡 The drive back to George takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, but allow extra time for village stops.
