Las Perlas Archipelago (Isla Contadora)
A serene escape to a Pacific paradise focused on pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and the flavors of Panamanian coastal cuisine.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 · Island Arrival and Beach Scouting
Morning — Depart from Panama City via ferry. Upon arrival at Isla Contadora, take a short stroll to a local cafe for a tropical fruit breakfast and Blue Mountain coffee. Explore the neighborhood around the airstrip to get your bearings.
Afternoon — Check into your hotel and head to Playa Galeon. Spend a lazy afternoon sunbathing on the white sands and swimming in the calm, turquoise waters. Rent a golf cart (the primary mode of transport) to scout the island's many hidden coves.
Evening — Enjoy a fresh seafood dinner at a beachfront palapa. Visit a local market to pick up spices and local catch for tomorrow's cooking activity. Relax with a cocktail while watching the sunset over the Pacific.
💡 Rent a golf cart early in the day as they can sell out during peak weekends.
Day 2 · Snorkeling and Tropical Cooking Class
Morning — Take a boat tour to nearby uninhabited islands like Isla Bartolome for snorkeling. See colorful reef fish and, if in season (July-October), keep an eye out for migrating humpback whales.
Afternoon — Head to Playa Ejecutiva for a quieter beach experience. In the late afternoon, join a small-group cooking class or arrange a private session with a local chef to learn how to prepare Caribbean-style Ceviche and Coconut Rice.
Evening — Feast on the dishes you helped create during your cooking session. Take a final evening walk along the shoreline under the stars before preparing for your departure the following morning.
💡 Ask locals for the 'catch of the day' at the pier to ensure the freshest fish for your cooking.
